सांस्कृतिक संबंध परिषदेने मित्र देशांमध्ये भारतीय सांस्कृतिक महोत्सवाचे आयोजन करावे – राज्यपाल सी. पी. राधाकृष्णन – महासंवाद

मुंबई, दि. ९ : गेल्या काही वर्षांमध्ये भारताचे जागतिक पटलावर महत्व वाढले असून देशोदेशींचे राष्ट्रप्रमुख भारताशी व्यापार, संयुक्त उपक्रम यांसह शिक्षण व सांस्कृतिक संबंध वाढविण्यासाठी प्रयत्नशील आहेत. सांस्कृतिक विविधता भारताचे बलस्थान असून सांस्कृतिक संबंध परिषदेने विविध देशांमध्ये भारताच्या सांस्कृतिक महोत्सवांचे आयोजन करून विविध देशांशी संबंध आणखी दृढ करण्यात योगदान द्यावे असे प्रतिपादन राज्यपाल सी. पी. राधाकृष्णन यांनी केले.

राज्यपाल राधाकृष्णन यांच्या प्रमुख उपस्थितीत भारतीय सांस्कृतिक संबंध परिषदेचा ७५ वा स्थापना दिवस नॅशनल सेंटर फॉर परफॉर्मिंग आर्ट्स (एनसीपीए), मुंबई येथे संपन्न झाला, त्यावेळी ते बोलत होते.

अलीकडेच चिलीचे अध्यक्ष भारत दौऱ्यावर येऊन गेले. भारतीय संस्कृती व परंपरांबद्दल आपण वाचले असून येथील सांस्कृतिक विविधता आपल्याला प्रत्यक्ष अनुभवायची असल्याचे त्यांनी आपणास सांगितले असे नमूद करुन भारतीय सांस्कृतिक संबंध परिषदेने देशाचे परराष्ट्र संबंध अधिक दृढ करण्यात महत्त्वाची भूमिका बजावावी असे राज्यपालांनी सांगितले.

भारतीय सांस्कृतिक संबंध परिषदेने अनेक देशांमधील विद्यार्थ्यांना शिष्यवृत्ती प्रदान करून भारतात उच्च शिक्षण घेण्यास सहकार्य केले याबद्दल आनंद व्यक्त करून देशोदेशींचे हे सर्व माजी विद्यार्थी आज त्यांच्या देशात भारताचे सांस्कृतिक राजदूत झाले आहेत. भारतीय शिष्यवृत्तीमुळे अफगाणिस्तान सह अनेक मित्र देशातील विद्यार्थ्यांना भारतात उच्च शिक्षण घेण्याची संधी मिळाली असे राज्यपालांनी यावेळी सांगितले.

यावेळी प्रसिद्ध नृत्यांगना आदिती भागवत यांच्या ‘लय की कहानी’ या नृत्याधारित कार्यक्रमाचे आयोजन करण्यात आले. कार्यक्रमाला समाजसेविका व कला इतिहासकार फिरोजा गोदरेज, मुंबई विद्यापीठाचे कुलगुरु  डॉ. रवींद्र कुलकर्णी, राज्यपालांचे सचिव डॉ. प्रशांत नारनवरे, प्रोटेक्टर ऑफ इमिग्रंट्स राहुल बर्हत, भारतीय सांस्कृतिक संबंध परिषदेच्या विभागीय संचालिका रेणू पृथियानी, राज्यपालांचे उपसचिव एस राममूर्ती, विविध देशांचे मुंबईतील वाणिज्यदूत, आयसीसीआर शिष्यवृत्ती प्राप्त विविध देशांचे विद्यार्थी आदी  उपस्थित होते.

Governor compliments ICCR for promoting Cultural Diplomacy

Mumbai, 9 April : Maharashtra Governor C. P. Radhakrishnan presided over the 75th Foundation Day programme of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) at NCPA in Mumbai on Wed (9 April).

In his address, Governor Radhakrishnan expressed his admiration for ICCR for promoting India’s cultural diplomacy and facilitating cultural exchange. He praised ICCR’s efforts in showcasing the diverse and vibrant Indian heritage through its global network of International Cultural Centres, and the impact it has had in promoting mutual understanding between nations.

 “ICCR has been at the forefront of promoting India’s rich cultural heritage. Thousands of scholarships have been provided to students from various countries, many of whom today stand as ambassadors of Indian culture in their respective nations,” remarked the Governor. He further praised ICCR’s role in fostering education, with students from countries such as Afghanistan actively seeking opportunities to study in India.

The Governor said India’s global image has witnessed a remarkable transformation in recent years. Many nations are eager to forge multilateral partnerships with India, which according to him is a testament to our growing influence on the world stage.

The Governor said the President of Chile expressed a desire to experience India’s culture by living among the people. He encouraged ICCR to further extend its outreach and suggested organizing India festivals in various countries to strengthen the bond of cultural exchange.

A dance and musical programme ‘Laya Ki Kahani’ was presented by well known Kathak dance exponent Aditi Bhagwat on the occasion.

Philanthropist and art historian Pheroza Godrej, Secretary to the Governor Dr Prashant Narnaware, Vice Chancellor of the University of Mumbai Dr. Ravindra Kulkarni, Protector of Emigrants (PoE) Rahul Barhat, ICCR Mumbai Zonal Director Renu Prithiani, Deputy Secretary to the Governor S Ramamoorthy, diplomats from various countries and foreign students getting ICCR scholarship were present.
