Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Sunil Yadav from New Delhi constituency is confident of his victory against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal by 25,000 votes. Describing Kejriwal as a high profile politician, Yadav said that Kejriwal has fooled the constituency by calling himself a ‘common man’.

Yadav said, “When Kejriwal came to contest here (New Delhi), people thought that he would listen to them. But, after five years, we are hearing that he is a high profile leader. ”Yadav denied any fear in contesting elections against the AAP leader.

Yadav said, “We were down to defeat Sheila Dixit. Now I have come to defeat Kejriwal. ”On BJP’s manifesto not having local issues and focusing on national issues, Yadav said that he is contesting on the local agenda.

Yadav said, “I am talking about people living in slum areas in my constituency. I am talking about their water and electricity bills. New Delhi has not got the benefit of free water and electricity. I am talking about them. “

He said, “Kejriwal forgot the constituency after the victory. I am a local and know about the problems I am facing in my constituency and people. ”He accused the Chief Minister of Delhi of misusing the money earned as part of the state’s GST returns for his advertisements. . He said, “Kejriwal spent Rs 850 crore on advertisements, which is part of the state’s GST return.”

In 2013, Kejriwal challenged the then Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit in New Delhi and won. Kejriwal received 53.46 per cent of the votes, Dixit was second with 22.23 per cent and followed by Vijender Gupta (BJP) with 21.68 per cent. Kejriwal became the chief minister, but resigned after 49 days. In the next elections in 2015, Kejriwal secured 64.34 percent of the votes from this seat. He defeated Nupur Sharma, the then spokesperson of Delhi BJP.
