Telecom company Reliance Jio (Jio) has the best performance in terms of 4G downloads with a download speed of 20.9 megabits per second (Mbps) in the month of January. However, Vodafone has been the first in terms of upload speed. This has been reported in the data of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).
The speed of Reliance Jio remained the highest even after the November low of 27.2 Mbps. The speed of Jio has been almost three times the download speed of nearest competitor Bharti Airtel. According to TRAI data, the average download speed of Airtel in January was 7.9 Mbps, Vodafone’s 7.6 Mbps and Idea’s 6.5 Mbps.
Although Vodafone and Idea have merged, TRAI still separately assesses the performance of the two networks as the integration of the two networks is yet to be completed.
In terms of upload speed, Vodafone has the best performance with six Mbps. It was followed by Idea with 5.6 Mbps, Jio with 4.6 Mbps and Airtel with 3.8 Mbps.
