Political party propaganda on a YouTube channel; There are no restrictions on this medium yet

Bhushan Garud : The list of political party candidates has been fixed in the state. As social media is now more used in propaganda by these political parties and candidates, cyber-cells are keeping an eye on this digital propaganda. YouTube channels are promoting through this as there are no restrictions.

The allegations have been tainted by political parties and anti-incumbent candidates as the electoral battle began. The election commission has issued a code of conduct for this campaign. Each candidate has a limit of up to Rs 25 lakh for his campaign. Candidates are now using social media in the digital age. This includes WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram. Candidates appear to be one step ahead in criticizing and accusing these media. Besides, posters and panels are also being published on social media. These include songs for promotion, miniatures etc. The Election Commission has imposed restrictions on this. There is no way to spend on social media.

Because of this, the Commission has set up a cell, and it will monitor it. For the traditional campaign, the Election Commission has to submit the expense. However, political candidates are using it more freely. In addition, every person in the house can access every person as they have a mobile. The channels and their representatives on YouTube, which have been active since the election was announced and before, have been seen everywhere. Many of these channels are locally created and run by individuals. As a result, election officials also need to pay special attention to promotions and news on YouTube channels.

With the massive promotion on social media, millions of people in the district now have mobiles, and there is the question of who will be looked after and how. The District Police Administration has a cyber center to monitor social media. However, locals or city police stations do not have such facilities and lack of such knowledge. Since every candidate is spreading their campaign through this, political parties are taking the same role as ‘Teri Bhi Chup Meri Bhi Chup’.
