Delhi University Admissions: First Cut-Off List Out Today

The first cut-off list for courses and colleges under Delhi University is likely to be released on Thursday, 27 June, after the deadline for the application process was extended to 22 June by the Delhi High Court.

The document verification, approval of admission and payment of fees for undergraduate admissions on the basis of the first list would be carried out till 1 July (except 30 June).

The extension of deadline for the application process to 22 June came after a row over changes in the eligibility criteria for admissions to the UG courses at the varsity reached the high court.The court then directed DU and UGC to allow students to apply for admission for the current academic season based on the eligibility criteria of 2018-19.

  • A total of 2,58,388 paid applications were received at Delhi University this year, a drop of around 20,000 from last year
  • The BA (Hons) English course saw the maximum number of applications at 1,42,970, followed by BA (Hons) Political Science at 1,30,240 and BA Programme at 1,25,519

Delhi University Cut-Off Dates

The first cut-off list for courses and colleges under Delhi University is likely to be released on Thursday, 27 June.

The second cut-off list would release on 4 July, and the document verification, approval of admission and fee payment would be carried out from 4 to 6 July.

The third, fourth and fifth cut-off lists would be released on 9 July, 15 July and 20 July respectively.

St Stephen’s College Cut-Offs: 98.75% For English & Eco

Delhi University’s prestigious St Stephen’s College, which follows a separate admission procedure, had announced its cut-off lists for various courses on 24 June itself, with the minimum eligibility requirement for BA English (Hons) and BA Economics (Hons) being 98.75 percent.

For English (Hons), general category students from Commerce and Science streams should have secured at least 98.75 percent to qualify for interviews, while for Humanities, it was 98.25 percent.

An additional requirement of at least 90 percent in English Core or 85 percent in English Elective had also been set. Meanwhile, for BA Economics (Hons), the cut-off was 98.75 percent for Commerce, 98.5 percent for Humanities and 97.75 for Science, with an additional rider of at least 92 percent in Maths.

The college has at least 50 percent of the seats reserved for Christians and follows a separate admission criteria. The release of the cut-off lists is followed by an interview process.
