Aditya Thackeray, MLA from Worli Assembly seat in Mumbai, on Wednesday said after taking oath in the Assembly that his party is committed to creating a new Maharashtra. Talking to reporters, Aditya Thackeray said, “We are committed to creating a new Maharashtra .” Many MLAs have been elected for the first time and we were feeling proud during the swearing-in. We want to serve the people in the state”.

The Shiv Sena had demanded that Aditya Thackeray should be made the ChiefMinister of the state. The Shiv Sena had presented a 50-50 formula to the Bharatiya Janata Party, under which it demanded that the BJP-Sena will share the CM post for two and a half years. There was no discussion between the two parties on this and Shiv Sena formed a new alliance with Congress and NCP. This alliance is being called Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi.
