Eminent Pakistani-origin singer Adnan Sami has on Monday responded to a critic on Twitter who was opposed to the Padma Shri award being given to him. Adnan Sami has said where he brings such a mind. Let me tell you that the Congress had tightened up on the award of Padma Shri to Adnan and said that now the glamor of the BJP government has become the new standard for this prestigious award. After this, the NCP has said that the award of Padma Shri to Adnan is an insult to the people of the country.
Adnan has tweeted and said, “Hey kids, have you got your mind from the clearance sale” or from the second-hand novelty store? Have you been taught in Berkeley that a son should be held accountable or punished for the actions of his parents? And you are a lawyer? What is learned in law school? With this, good luck.
Let us tell you that Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Nawab Malik said that it is a clear case that if anyone chants ‘Jai Modi’ from Pakistan, he will get Padma Shri award along with citizenship of the country. This is an insult to the people of the country.
Earlier, Congress spokesperson Jayveer Shergill also questioned why it happened that
Sanaullah , a soldier who joined the Kargil war, was declared an ‘intruder’ while the Padma Samman being given to the Sami whose
father stayed in the Pakistani Air Force in India Was fired against? Shergill released a video saying that
the brave soldier of the Indian Army and Mohammed Sanaullah, son of Bharat Mata, who
fought Kargil against Pakistan , were declared intruders through the NRC. On the other hand, Adnan Sami was
awarded the Padma Shri, whose father was an officer in the Pakistani Air Force and who fired against India.
He asked,
why the honor of India’s soldier intruder and son of Pak Air Force officer fighting against Pakistan ? Is Padmashri’s contribution to society necessary or is government glorified? Is there a new
criterion for Padmashri, that the government will shine, you will get Padma Shri?
Significantly, a few years ago, Sami, who acquired the citizenship of India,
has been announced to be awarded the Padma Shri this year . Sami was the first Pakistani citizen. However, senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh
expressed happiness over Sami being honored with the Padma Shri.
Singh tweeted, congratulations to all those selected for the Padma Awards. I am glad that famous singer and
music composer and Pakistani Muslim expatriate Adnan Sami has also been given the Padma Shri. He said, “I
had also recommended his case to the Government of India to give him Indian citizenship.” He
was granted Indian citizenship by the Modi government .
Singh said, Government of India has the
right to grant citizenship to any person of every religion who wants Indian citizenship , so why the CAB / CAA? Only to polarize Indian politics. If
a person of high repute who is a victim of persecution in Pakistan, Afghanistan or Bangladesh wants Indian citizenship,
what will the Indian government do now?
