Another case of forced conversions has come up in Pakistan. A Hindu girl was kidnapped from the marriage ceremony and converted to Islam. After this he was married to a Muslim man.

The girl was abducted by some people during the marriage ceremony on Saturday in Matiari district of Sindh province. She was then married to Shah Rukh Gul. The girl’s name is Bharti Bai.

Authorities have not taken any action against the kidnappers. According to reports, the police helped the man in forcibly taking away the bride. The US-based Sindhi Foundation has said that every year, about 1,000 young Sindhi Hindu girls between the ages of 12 and 28 are kidnapped and forcibly married.

Such cases have been continuously reported in Pakistan, where minorities like Hindus, Sikhs and Christians were forcibly converted to Islam and later married to Muslim boys. In August last year, 19-year-old Jagjit Kaur went missing for several days. It was later revealed that he was kidnapped and later forcibly married to a Muslim man.

The daughter of Bhagwan Singh, a ‘Granthi’ (priest) of Gurdwara Tambu Sahib, was also converted to Islam at gunpoint. After this incident many leaders in India created a ruckus and demanded action against the culprits.
