A Delhi court last month allowed Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad, who is accused of inciting people during anti-CAA demonstrations at Jama Masjid, to come to Delhi on Tuesday for treatment and election purposes and told him that the Delhi Police should be allowed to visit Provide program information. 

Additional Sessions Judge Kamini Lau gave these instructions while making a change in Azad’s bail order. A case was registered against him on December 20 in connection with the violence during the demonstration in Daryaganj area.

The court also tells him that when he comes to Delhi, he will reside at the given address. He will inform the DCP telephonically and send an email if he is not in Delhi or Saharanpu

At the same time, the court directed the police to confirm this with the Election Commission and report by Tuesday whether Azad’s office in Delhi is a political party office or not. The court was hearing a petition filed by Azad requesting amendment in the terms of his bail order. 

The court on Wednesday granted bail to Chandrashekhar Azad. Azad was granted bail on the condition that he would not come to Delhi for the next four weeks except for medical treatment and would not participate in any protests during this period. He is accused of inciting people during an anti-CAA protest at Jama Masjid on 20 December. Additional Sessions Judge Kamini Lau granted relief to Azad with certain conditions.  

Why was Chandrashekhar’s bail opposed

During the hearing on Chandrashekhar’s bail plea, opposing the bail plea on behalf of the Public Prosecutor, it was contended that he had incited violence through social media posts, but the judge of the Tis Hazari sessions court, Kamini Lau, said that it was against him There is no talk of violence.
